10 Console Exclusives That Desperately Need A PC Release

That "PC Master Race" crown would sit nicely if only these games could make the transition to more powerful hardware.

The PC gaming platform offers limitless possibilities with a variety of benefits, such as easier access to games, lower prices, better support, and more freedom in general. Despite these perks however, even the snobbiest PC gamer will admit that although they have more exclusives, there are a few console releases that deserve a proper PC port. Aside from the convenience of having one's games easily accessible via a digital distributor such as Steam or Good Old Games, PC games have the potential to be modded, so that even the most broken releases can be fixed in a matter of days or even hours as we've seen with ports such as Deadly Premonition and Dark Souls. For some titles this can also mean additional content too; even games over a decade old like Deus Ex see new content thrown their way, and more modern releases such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Grand Theft Auto IV see regular modifications that constantly breathe new life into them. Finally, with more powerful hardware, these already-great games can run at even higher resolutions and smoother framerates, the way they're meant to be played. Although many of these games are available to play through emulation, this list will focus on games that deserve a legitimate release via digital distribution. Being able to download and play your favourite games through services such as Steam and Desura without any hassle is well worth the money, especially if you can support the developers in the process. If nothing else, having these games would be a great way round out anyone's digital library.

Ken was born in 1994, and before the turn of the century, he was already a gamer for life, starting with Pokémon Blue Version. He has a passion for storytelling, especially in the gaming medium. Growing up on a healthy diet of JRPGs and point and click adventure games, young Kenny grew up playing Nintendo and Sony consoles, before becoming a snobby member of the PC Master Race. Nowadays, he resides in a time warp, refusing to believe the nineties ended as he fills up his Steam library with old point and clicks and cRPGs.
