10 Cringiest Video Game Moments You Wish You Could Forget
7. Call Of Duty's Celebrity Cameos
Earning over $30 billion in revenue and selling a staggering 500 million units, the Call Of Duty series is one of the biggest gaming franchises of all time.
This record-breaking shooter series has given fans dozens of unforgettable moments over the years within its action-packed campaigns and multiplayer modes that have revolutionised the genre. However, for every "All Ghillied Up" and "Der Eisendrache", the franchise has had its fair share of awkward missteps.
Alongside predatory loot boxes, lazy multiplayer maps, and some awful campaigns, the series has likewise become notorious for including weird celebrity cameos.
For an extra cost, players could swap the standard multiplayer announcer for Snoop Dogg in 2014's Ghosts (who would later be playable in later instalments). Other peculiar celebrity appearances include Seth Rogen and Nicki Minaj, with pop-culture characters like Lara Croft, Shredder, and Chucky also being included. The most recent addition to this bizarre trend is Beavis and Butt-Head being added to Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
Not only have these skins been ridiculed for how out of place they feel, but their absurdly high price tags have also raised eyebrows amongst the fanbase.
Seeing Seth Rogen running around the battlefield has turned this once-gritty shooter into an overpriced Fortnite.
