10 Dark Souls Characters That Were In Multiple Video Games
2. Firekeepers
Serving a levelling function in Dark Souls 3, the firekeeper is specific to you and guides you through the game.
Accessing the tower behind Firelink Shrine will show you a pile of corpses that are from firekeepers past, showing either how many attempts have failed to link the flame or just how long the quest has been going on.
You can find a Firekeeper Soul on the roof of the shrine and once handed over, you can heal the Dark Sigil(s) that you carry, for a cost. You can also find Firekeepers Eyes in the dark version of the shrine and handing them over will change the music to a sadder melody and allow a third and lesser-known ending to be reached.
In the original game, there was a mute firekeeper that tended the flame in the Shrine. Using a firekeeper soul would strengthen the Estus Flask and there were a total of three firekeepers in game - the one in the Shrine, the Daughter of Chaos and the Darkmoon Knight in Anor Londo.
In the second game, the first hut you encounter in Things Betwixt is occupied by firekeepers and a younger woman who takes care of them in their old age.
