10 Darkest Stranger Missions In Red Dead Redemption 2
2. The Iniquities Of History
Arriving in the dusty town of Rhodes, players can meet a dishevelled and homeless old man named Jeremiah Compson. Approaching him, he'll spin you a tragic story about how he was once a respected gentleman who lost everything before tasking you with travelling to his former home to retrieve some of his treasured belongings.
At first, it's easy to sympathise with Compson's situation; and being a kind-hearted cowboy, you oblige his simple request.
While exploring his dilapidated house, however, it becomes apparent that Mr Compson isn't the nice man you thought he was.
Examining letters and pictures scattered around the house along with his old ledger, it's revealed that the esteemed livelihood that was supposedly "stolen" from him was that of a slaver, and an especially cruel one at that. You'll even uncover a hidden basement with chains attached to the walls where he held these people.
A brutal reminder of America's history, you won't feel as sorry for the old man when Arthur burns his so-called legacy in front of him. Whether or not you leave him in his misery or put him out of it is up to you.
