There are many strange places in the world of Rockstar’s masterpiece, but arguably none more so than the secluded town of Butcher’s Creek. And when you find a distressed man just west of Van Horn who can only say the settlement’s name, you'll see just how weird things have become there.

After returning the, players will fend off “demons” in the form of rabid dogs before meeting a mysterious shaman who informs you the town has been cursed.

Believing something suspect is going on, you’ll then set out to destroy charms throughout the area said to be holding the curse, and when the shaman claims your actions have only made things worse, your investigation takes you to an abandoned mine where you’ll discover arsenic is poisoning the water.

Confronting the shaman once more, who’s attempting to get the town to sign papers that he claims will lift the curse, it’s revealed he works for the mining company and wants to trick the townsfolk to leave.

Despite knowing the truth, though, the poisoned population still believe they’ve been cursed.

Although this curse was a lie, it still doesn’t explain the mysterious pentagram that appears in the town at night...
