3. Final Fantasy VII Cross-Dressing Scene

Just after Final Fantasy VII's full reboot was announced at 2015's E3, rather than look at how the game's mechanics were going to be tampered with or if characters like Aerith may be written back into the story, many critics changed tact and thought "...Guys...how the hell are they going to do a new version of that cross-dressing scene without it being really weird?" At the time you just went along with it more than anything else on this list. Final Fantasy VII was already one hell of an otherwordly experience, putting you squarely in the shoes (literally, Cloud's shoes were cement blocks) of an intrepid hero trying to save the earth, but not being immediately aware of it.
