10 Dumbest Ways You’ve Been Sold Video Games

2. Hitman: Absolution's Sexy Nuns

In the lead up to Hitman: Absolution, the vast majority of pre-release trailers and TV spots focused on a group of assassins provocatively dressed like nuns storming a hotel complex in search of Agent 47.

Not only do these spots completely misrepresent what the Hitman series is all about - daft executions that are supposed to be pulled off as silently and inconspicuously as possible - but it's such an obvious attempt to draw in the over-excited 14 year old crowd that the resulting campaign only ended up leaving a bad taste in the mouths of longtime fans of the series.

Even then, it wouldn't have felt so forced or so tacky had the nuns actually played a substantial role in the game.

Instead, the assassins are relegated to a single boss fight that comes out of nowhere and seems to have been retrofitted into the title in order to make these ads seems less exploitative.
