If you haven’t heard of Gone Home, it is highly recommended that you jump into the game while knowing as little about it as possible. Seriously, play the game with an open mind and it is practically guaranteed that you will love it.

Gone Home is very short experience. It begins as a daughter comes home from abroad to see her family. At the opening of the game, it appears obvious what type of story is about to unfold. The house seems to be something right out of a Stephen King novel. The lights are flickering, there is no one home, and it seems that terror is about to reign over the player.

However, as the protagonist makes her way through the house the story quickly unravels to reveal a touching story centered around one of the strongest human emotions that we can all relate to, young love.

The story is told through the environment. Scattered notes and clues around the house tell the story of what happened to the family that inhabited this home. It builds intrigue right up until the final reveal that will leave you staring at the screen even after the credits finish rolling.
