10 Essential Disney Video Games For Hardcore Fans

3. Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers

Duck Tales
Capcom

Despite controlling the market where animated films are concerned, Disney is no slouch in the animated television series department, as any kid who grew up during the 1990s can attest. One of the most popular series was Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers.

The game was developed by Capcom for the NES, and it followed the same premise as the show. Chip and Dale had their own detective agency, and that played out into the game in a way that just worked, which is an achievement considering the limited capabilities of the NES.

The game utilized a non-linear progression path in much the same way Bionic Commando was played on the system. Of course, unlike Bionic Commando, the game was more cartoony and designed for children. The mechanics weren't anything new either, but they were so well implemented into the platformer, it remains fun to this day.

Most people probably couldn't say the same thing about the cartoon that spawned this remarkable title for the NES. Still, the game has aged incredibly well, and due to the fact that it's challenging in all the right places, tells a great story, and looks amazing, there's not much people don't like about Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers.
