10 Essential PS4 Games You Must Play In 2017
2. Yooka-Laylee
Who remembers Banjo-Kazooie? The developers of Yooka-Laylee clearly do, as the entire game is a love letter to fans of the original games, before they became all vehicle-based and weird.
This project was funded for the most part by fans on Kickstarter, but unlike Mighty No.9 doesn’t look like it will disappoint. It’s a whirlwind tour of classic game design, and you’ll really love it if you were a gamer in the late 90’s and early 00’s.
With the actual rights to Banjo-Kazooie being all tied up with Microsoft and Rare, the ex-Rare devs of Playtonic Games have set out to create the game they’ve wanted to for years. You’ll visit all manner of whimsical environments along your journey, platforming and solving puzzles with the titular characters Yooka and Laylee.
After a long development process, the game has gone gold and is set for an April release.
