10 Evil Video Game Characters Who Saved The Day Anyway

6. Johnathan Reid - Vampyr

Baldur's Gate 3 Dark Urge
Dontnod Entertainment

Jonathan E. Reid is the pale, sun-hating protagonist of Vampyr. Cursed by the immortal blood of the Red Queen, he is truly condemned to a lifetime of evil, as unlike the “vegan” bloodsuckers of Twilight, Vampyr’s creatures of the night have a much more inherent and stronger drive to commit acts of cruelty.

That said, if you want to help Reid do some good in the world, the option is actually on the table!

Despite Reid’s nature constantly pushing him towards the path of evil, Vampyr allows you to try and defy it, abstaining from feeding on mortals and killing people unless absolutely necessary.

Your character will have to exhibit extreme resolve, but if he manages to withhold acting on his innate urge for violence, the effort will be rewarded with the game’s best possible ending.

Instead of destroying everything in his path and becoming a slave to his condition, Johnatan saves London from utter chaos and convinces his beloved to move to America to spend the rest of their days in some remote part of the country where his vampirism isn’t going to be a threat to anyone.

See? Just because you feed on blood to survive, it doesn’t mean you have to be a sucker for evil!
