Many years before Cyberpunk 2077 let us down, the world had Syndicate from EA for Windows, PS3 and 360. Syndicate is a cyberpunk first-person shooter video game developed by Starbreeze Studios and published by Electronic Arts released back in 2012. It is a reboot of the Syndicate series of real-time isometric tactical shooter games (1993 & 96).

Set in the year 2069, the narrative follows EuroCorp agent Miles Kilo, whose job it is to eliminate important personnel from rival corporations. His life takes a turn when he inadvertently discovers the secret practice used by EuroCorp to recruit new agents.

One of the game's mainstays on a very flooded FPS market is a large variety of weapons in your arsenal; from standard pistols to futuristic cyber rifles. Additionally, Kilo is implanted with a computer chip that allows him to access the "dataverse" (talk about wireless web) and can hack to defeat enemies as well as solve puzzles.

Sadly, its main claims to fame were that its violence led to it being banned in Australia and, despite a fairly modest budget for a AAA title, it was considered a commercial failure for the publisher.

Sadly, Syndicate came and went without much of a lasting impact but holds up well even today.
