10 Frustrating Dark Souls Enemies DESIGNED To Piss You Off
1. Jailers (Dark Souls III)
These lanky, masked guards don't seem too threatening on a first glance, but boy howdy you'd be wrong.
The red-hot iron they brandish looks pretty nasty, but it's their glowing red lantern you should be afraid of.
This lantern is amongst the cruellest things that Dark Souls III will throw at you, as it can shrink your health bar to as low as 1 HP in an instant. After a twenty second wait, your health bar will return, but you won't regain any lost HP, meaning you'll be heavily reliant on Estus whenever you face them.
The Jailers are amongst the most egregious and frustrating enemies in the series for that attack alone, but that's not all they have to make you suffer.
Their physical attacks hit hard and they possess magical skills that directly effect your movement speed and ability to consume Estus when close to them.
Try to tackle a group of them and you're as good as dead. Either picking them off from a distance or luring them away to fight one-on-one are the only sure-fire ways to safely battle them.
Few enemies in the Dark Souls series feel as genuinely dangerous as the Jailers.
