9. Journey Of The Prairie King - Stardew Valley

With more than ten years of non-stop development, Stardew Valley has been infused with a ton of side content, such as mini-games, special seasonal events, and many other side activities that make it easy to forget the main goal of the game is to run a farm.

Out of all of these distractions, however, only one is so advanced and elaborate that it might as well count as a separate game.

Prairie King.

Prairie King is an arcade machine sitting in the back of the town saloon. The machine contains a full game experience in the form of a 2D shooter where you play as a cowboy fighting off hordes of zombies.

Despite being a small attraction in a remote area, Prairie King is surprisingly in-depth, featuring three distinct stages complete with fourteen levels and three boss fights.

Considering the variety of in-game enemies and upgrades, its custom progression system, and the fact that the experience even comes with its own tiny bit of lore, it’s safe to say that Prairie King shouldn’t be disregarded as a small minigame.

If you’re a fan of arcades, you might actually spend a lot more time with the machine than on your farm.
