10 Games That Will Win Major Awards In 2015

6. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Award It Will Win: Best Role Playing Game In recent years, role-playing games seem to have been following one simple rule - bigger is better. Every RPG released nowadays seems intent on creating larger worlds with more content than their rivals - to be fair, it's hard to complain about that. The Witcher isn't the most widely known series in gaming but the third installment - Wild Hunt - looks set to change all that. The stunning visuals (which the series is already well known for) look even better on current hardware and developers CD Projekt RED are promising a world that's 20% bigger than Skyrim. Yikes. It's not going to be an empty, desolate world either. There will be a ton of quests to discover and complete, many of which will have consequences for Geralt and the player, perhaps creating new enemies or changing the world in some way. The Witcher's combat has always been critically acclaimed too and the developers have made tweaks to make it more fluid and fun. The difficulty of The Witcher 2 was divisive but, if the combat is largely untouched, expect a similarly challenging experience. With day and night cycles adding to the atmosphere and ever-changing nature of the world, The Witcher 3 looks like a game that's going to devour spare time. Right now, it's easy to see this cleaning up come award season.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
