10 Games You Played Because You Owned The Wrong System
5. Castlevania 64
The Game You Wanted Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night The Playstation's revolutionary take on the Castlevania series: Symphony adopted many elements from the Metroid franchise and in the process shook the gaming world. The Game You Played Castlevania 64 Another alternative approach to the Castlevania formula: Castlevania 64 converted the series into a full 3D action adventure game. Was It A Worthy Substitute? No. Castlevania 64 was never meant to be a Symphony Of The Night clone; it was just meant to at least give N64 fans an equally entertaining game set in the Castlevania universe. Instead, they got a Castlevania game that was as broken as it was ambitious. C64 was ahead of its time in what it was trying to do for 3D action gaming, but the technology wasnt quite there yet. The gameplay relied too much on unnecessary platforming and the camera was an abomination of game design that needed to be navigated with awful controls. At least Nintendo fans got several Symphony-style efforts across the companys mobile systems.
