10 Gaming Moves That Are Simply Humiliating

3. Nu-Nu To You (Chrono Trigger)

According to the The Mystery of Life (vol. 841, chapter 26) in Square-Enix's exemplary time-travelling epic Chrono Trigger, "All life begins with Nu and ends with Nu." We're not sure if that statement is entirely accurate, though the latter half is definitely true - at least, if you're unlucky enough to encounter a rogue one in battle.

The curious Nus in question pop up throughout every era in Chrono Trigger, their origin and arcane nature unexplained. At least one is benevolent, artificially programmed by the Guru of Reason Belthasar to assist Crono and his crew. The blue Nus - not so much.

Not only are they dangerous, but they are dangerous in the same humiliating way as Final Gambit Shedinja. The Nus have just two moves - each a headbutt. The first reduces one of Crono and co. to 1HP; the second, deals a single HP of damage. At least, unlike the aforementioned Pokémon, they are not practically impervious, but they'll still leave you shouting "oh Nu!".

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
