10 "Good" Video Game Endings That Probably Went Horribly Off-Screen

5. The Future Children Are Still Victims Of An Apocalypse - Fire Emblem: Awakening

Fire Emblem Awakening has the typical jRPG "good guys win" ending where the main characters defeat the evil dragon threatening the world, and despite sacrifices that were made in the process, everyone ends up fine anyway, living happily ever after.

However, there is a big elephant in the room that no one seems to address—what happens to the future children after the day is saved?

Since time travel in the game doesn't seem to erase the people from the alternate future, we know the children stick around in the new timeline. In fact, the game even gives you individual descriptions of what their lives are after the finale, and yet it never takes into consideration that they, well, lived whole entire lives in the future!

Although they reconnect with the alternate versions of their parents, the truth is their original families are all dead, and this would have definitely left mental scars on their psyche.

Additionally, the new world would definitely be different from the apocalyptic one they left behind, so they would likely struggle to adapt.

The entire idea of being stuck in an altered reality for the rest of their lives sounds like a horrible scenario that the game seems to brush off too quickly.
