10 Great Characters WASTED In Terrible Video Games

9. Nakmor Drack - Mass Effect: Andromeda

Blood Omen Kain
Bioware

Mass Effect: Andromeda infamously launched riddled with technical issues that made the game feel unfinished. A lot of players shelved the spin-ff, content to wait until it had been fully patched up, to return to... one of the most boring games ever made.

Fortunately, BioWare's mostly maintained their ability to write great characters. Peebee was a pop-punk archaeologist; Nyx, a female turian bootlegger; and Drack, a cranky grandpa krogan.

Like most krogan, he likes shooting things. A lot. But he's also 1,400 years old, which means he's lived through many of the events that shaped the Mass Effect universe as we know it. As you get him to open up, his character achieves a level of depth previous krogan party members never managed.

You learn he joined the Andromeda Initiative because his granddaughter did, and he didn't want to be alone any more than he wanted her to be (awww). His typical korgan bravado is a cover for the fact this his organs - many of them synthetic due to centuries of being shot at - are beginning to fail. Drack is old, tired, and facing his own imminent death, and chooses to go out making the galaxy a better place for his granddaughter.
