10 Great Characters WASTED In Terrible Video Games

2. Lu Bu - Dynasty Warriors

We're all familiar with Dynasty Warriors. Despite years of barely changing its tired formula, the series has real staying power. Some of their recent crossovers with The Legend Of Zelda and Fire Emblem have been good, but let's face it: there are far more terrible DW games than good ones.

If you've never played Dynasty Warriors, they all go like this: you choose a character from Romance Of The Three Kingdoms and use them to mindlessly button-mash hundreds of soldiers to death in feudal China. Encountering other generals proves more of a challenge, but not much.

But who doesn't know Lu Bu? This notoriously strong, optional boss has somehow embedded himself deep in the game industry subconscious. At the start of his level, the player is explicitly ordered not to fight him. This, of course, just makes you want to fight him more.

You approach the gate and there he is: a giant of a man, head adorned in opulent plumage, single-highhandedly killing dozens of soldiers (which you do too, but not with his style), shouting pleas for a worthy challenger. If you leave him alone, you will see your generals drop like flies. He is the only variable tossed into this simple formula.
