10 Great Games with TERRIBLE DLC

2. Donkey Kong Bananza

Resident Evil Village DLC
Nintendo

Even though Donkey Kong has been consistent over the last 20 years, the banana-munching, barrel-blasting gorilla hasn't been top-tier the way he used to be.

But all that changed with Donkey Kong Bananza. Boasting destructive environments, animal transformations, and beautifully crafted worlds, the Switch 2 exclusive singlehandedly brought the big ape back into the major leads. Veterans had to wait an eternity but DK is back, bigger than ever.

But Nintendo had to ruin it all. A mere two months after Bananza launched, a DLC was announced called Emerald Isle, where the tie-wearing primate must perform challenges and collect jewels on his home island. It isn't spectacular, but it's a nice little addition to an already terrific game.

However, the problem is that players have to pay for Emerald Isle. Considering Bananza is almost £60, demanding an additional £17 for a mild upgrade is plain greedy.

Also, having Emerald Isle come out so soon after Bananza itself is ridiculous. It demonstrates they could've been packaged together but the powers-that-be chose not to, solely to squeeze every penny imaginable from consumers.

Though Donkey Kong Bananza captivated Switch 2 owners, this move didn't do Nintendo any favours.
