10 Great Video Game Sequels NOBODY Asked For
1. Watch Dogs 2
Watch Dogs was the poster child for the next generation when it was announced at E3 2012, and promised ground-breaking graphics, a thrilling story and an exciting fictional city of Chicago to explore at the player's leisure.
When it released, fans were left disappointed as it was clear the game wasn't as polished as initially advertised. Visually it was nothing special, the narrative was weak and the city left much to be desired. It was, for all intents and purposes, a failure, and raised apprehension for new releases rather than built anticipation.
Nobody expected developer Ubisoft to give the franchise another chance but in 2016, just a few months before it hit shelves, the company announced Watch Dogs 2. Now set in the sunny city of San Francisco, it looked to be a stark difference in tone but maintained the hacker-based story and gameplay that was expected.
After the disappointment of the first game, Watch Dogs 2 had it all to prove, and moving to the Bay gave Ubisoft's contemporary open-world series new life. The positive strides that the project made only heightens the immense frustration of Watch Dogs: Legion, which seemed to revert back to type.
