10 Great Video Game Sequels The Fans Rejected
1. Resident Evil 6
Resident Evil may be on the rise lately, but there was a time when it looked like it wouldn't be around much longer.
This was most worrying with Resident Evil 6, which was lampooned by fans upon release for being nothing like the original games, and straying far too close to an action title. Basically, it wasn't scary enough.
Resident Evil 5 received similar complaints around its release, but to a much smaller and more manageable extent.
It's a big shame that Resident Evil 6 was so heavily criticized, because its actually an incredibly fun game if you don't take it too seriously. The complaint about a lack of horror can be true, but there are also some genuinely unnerving scenes throughout.
Gameplay is also a big plus, with Jake's campaign in particular playing more like a high-octane Uncharted, complete with some crunchy hand-to-hand combat.
Resident Evil 6 may not be the best game in the series, but it's certainly far from the worst.
