10 Great Video Games That Are WAY Too Long

9. Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Ubisoft

When it comes to Assassin's Creed, purists are expecting a sprawling adventure they can get lost into for hours on end.

That being said, Valhalla takes over 60 hours to win, which is approximately 15 hours more than the second-longest entry, Odyssey. If you intend to 100% complete it, it can take up to 150 hours.

Of course, this wouldn't be a problem if all the content felt fresh and diverse. Unfortunately, many of the chapters follow the same structure, with our Viking hero arriving in a new land, befriending the locals, uncovering a plot and resolving it before moving on. While forming alliances, it sometimes feels like you're filling a checklist rather than taking part in a viscerally emotional story.

It's worth mentioning that this repetition wouldn't be so noticeable if Valhalla wasn't the 12th main entry in the series. Since AC veterans have infiltrated camps, parkoured up buildings, and tagged enemies countless times before, it's odd how Ubisoft thought to pack this instalment with more of the same content than ever.

While an abundance of material can be a strength in open-world games, Assassin's Creed Valhalla went too far.
