Umamusume: Pretty Derby is the latest hotness in the gacha games genre. You play as a horse girl trainer who helps their anime protégés become the next racing champions… or fail them and cause them to tragically fade into obscurity (or what the game's fans collectively call the "glue factory").
Despite the game’s cute art style, the stakes of training your Umamusumes are ridiculously high. Getting your horses to the top of the popularity chain will let you keep them as legacy racers that can pass on their “genes” to future trainees. However, all it takes is one simple mistake to lose even your best horse forever!
The career game mode in which you train Umamusumes is an unforgiving scenario. You can get the best stats and excel in every activity, but if your horse fails at least one race without reaching her personal goals, you don’t get to keep her as a legacy racer, causing you to irreversibly lose all the skills and stats you worked so hard to obtain.
