Crusader Kings III is a grand strategy simulating life in medieval times. As such, it features many of ye old deadly things that can kill you, including a whole arsenal of weapons, poisons, and plague-infested items.

You can spend hours learning to avoid these clearly deadly objects, but this may still not save you, as the game can also end your lineage with the last thing you'd expect to be dangerous—a tiny, adorable duckling.

One of the rarest deaths in the game features a duck companion that your ruler can obtain in a random event. Although the baby chick seems to be just a cutesy pet that lets your character relieve stress, if your ruler is old, there is a small percent chance that the duckling will trigger a life-ending event.

The event causes your character to die from a heart attack, as the duckling's cuteness is so overwhelming that it raises their blood pressure beyond what their elderly heart can handle.

For a medieval death, it's actually a pretty pleasant way to go. Also, the prospect of a huge empire being potentially split or thrown into a civil war because of one duckling prematurely ending the ruler's reign is quite hilarious.
