10 "Harmless" Gaming Items That Will Secretly KILL YOU

If wanton violence and fiery action aren't enough to get your kicks, Borderlands 3, like most titles in the series, also offers gambling as a means of thrill-seeking between missions. 

In Moxxi's establishment aboard Sanctuary III, the player can find a row of slot machines that allow them to gamble away their hard-earned cash on new guns, skins, collectibles, or destroying their life.

Not in a figurative financial sense, mind you, but in an actual, "you're going to die" kind of way. 

Although the slots are in a safe zone, and they appear to be harmless, there is actually a small chance that when you activate them, they will roll three "booms" and then reward you with a grenade... a live and unfastened grenade that will instantly blow up in your face.

The explosion is strong enough that it can fully take out the player's health and shield if they don't dodge out of its way. Of course, unless you are already familiar with how the slot machines work, you probably won't know what three booms do and die. 

Better yet, some players may know of the trap but still ignore it because they are too focused on gambling. 

Gambling addiction is a dead serious problem.
