10 Hated Video Games That Broke Fans
4. Assassin's Creed: Unity
The first Assassin's Creed was such a hit, Ubisoft were eager to milk this cash cow for all its worth, churning out a follow-up almost every year. Even though this is an unwise idea, the games' quality didn't seem to waver.
Not only were the mechanics more fluid in each sequel, every entry expanded on the story as well as the mythos. The spin-offs, Revelations and Rogue, could've been pure cash-grabs, but the the developers clearly put a lot of effort into them.
The same cannot be said about Assassin's Creed: Unity. As soon as the game started... it didn't start. Due to a glitch upon launch, players couldn't access the main menu screen. When they were finally to access the main campaign, they noticed the main character had a habit of falling through the ground for no reason. Oh, and let's not forget the relentless face glitches that made every character look like an advertisement for nightmare fuel.
You know what's the most ridiculous thing? Unity took four years to make and cost $150 million... and this was the end result! The game tarnished Ubisoft's reputation and caused its shares to drop by a whopping 12.8% shortly after this spin-off's release.
