10 Hilarious Horror Video Game Deaths
5. The Headbanger - Dead Space
Unlike Resident Evil, the Dead Space franchise has taken itself seriously pretty consistently across its three mainline games, though that of course doesn't discount the prospect of occasional unintentional comedy.
In the original game's second chapter, "Intensive Care," players will eventually hear a repetitive, metallic banging sound, before discovering a severely mutilated crew member repeatedly banging his head against the ship's hallway.
What is temporarily horrifying is quickly rendered accidentally funny, then, when the man rears back and headbutts the wall with all his might.
This may kill him, but it also causes his head to comedically slide down the wall, making an amusing high-pitched squeak and leaving a cartoonish blood smear on the wall.
Again, it should be thoroughly disturbing, but the animation and sound effects combine to make it accidentally, perversely comical.
