10 Horror Franchises That Should Be Turned Into Video Games
3. Killer Klowns From Outer Space
A horror comedy directed by The Chiodo Brothers, Killer Klowns From Outer Space is a cult classic about an alien race that happen to resemble clowns. Their goal is to harvest human life for sustenance, capturing unsuspecting townsfolk and liquefying them for food. In the film, captured individuals are stored in cotton candy balls, before being melted down and consumed through crazy straws by their captors.
Currently, a potential sequel is still in the works, entitled Return of the Killer Klowns From Outer Space in 3D, which will see several of the key cast reprising their roles from the original movie.
The Game: The aesthetics of the film are genuinely unnerving, and the prospect of exploring an enormous, demented alien spacecraft disguised as a circus tent is a tantalising proposition.
There’s also a lot of room for potential comedy, seeing as how the premise is inherently comedic, which means that the game could be both deeply unsettling, and utterly hilarious.
In terms of genre, the game could go either way, but a shooter in the style of Painkiller might be the best option in this case. After all, gunning down Klowns with an array of overblown, ridiculous weaponry might just prove to be an infinite amount of fun.
