4. Resident Evil 2 (2019) - Mr. X
Conversely to the Nemesis' new change of pattern, the revamp of the Mr. X from the original to the 2019 remake is a massive improvement.
In the original, he was an imposing threat in either Leon or Claire's second scenario. Looming as he was, he couldn't open doors. Skip ahead twenty one years and someone's been teaching this old dog new tricks.
Like Giger's alien counterpart, Mr. X can be drawn by gunfire. So if you're engaged in a firefight with zombies and/or Lickers, guess who's side the trenchcoat wearing Tyrant is going to take?
Hearing the clomping of those size whatever boots following you was unnerving, as you could never really pinpoint his location.
But make no bones about it, he'd find you.
At least Claire has it slightly easier. Poor Leon, though, has to put up with the silent stalker right up to the end of his scenario.
Granted, you get a reprieve in that he couldn't enter certain rooms. But planning a gauntlet and hoping for a clean run was a tense and fraught experience.
