10 Horror Villains That Don't Stop Chasing You

5. The Evil Within 2 - Anima

The first Evil Within had a pretty nasty lurker in the shape of Ruvik, the main antagonist. His slow pace, ability to teleport and general creepy demeanour was quite unsettling for most of the game.

But as is the nature of sequels, stakes have to be raised.

And as a result, we had the Anima to contend with. What makes it worse is that she has no real motivation to chase Sebastian, other than "because he is the protagonist".

Whilst she may prove to be an optional boss to defeat, her appearance will inevitably halt your progress a few times along the way. Cropping up at set points, the game forces you into tense hide-and-not-be-murdered sections with the apparition.

Considering the second game favoured a more open world, slightly more action based ideology, the throwback to horror and stealth elements from the first game makes it both jarring and tense in equal measure.

One hit death if she touches you, a seemingly invulnerable presence, as well as just the all round terrifying presence make for a formidable stalker, and no pushover at that.
