2. Minecraft - Creepers
If there were an award for "Unexpectedly Terrifying Enemy in a Family-Friendly Game", then Creepers would clean house.
Creepy face? Check.
Unnerving noise? Check.
Uncanny ability to turn up when you least expect it? Check and mate.
Put simply, Creepers are a*sholes. What exacerbates this is not just that they creep up on you (funnily enough), but that they explode when they do.
Which means, for the uninitiated, that the lovely two up, two down you're hunkering down in can have a lovely hole blown out of the wall. In which more Creepers can fill into... and explode.
It's enough to put many a player on edge, hearing that hiss from behind before the following explosion shortens your life expectancy. It's even worse when several corner you in Survival mode, as supplies and resources are already limited, as is your life.
The Enderman might be a playful homage to the Slenderman, but it's the Creepers that steal the show on this one.
Much like the Working Joe's, it's the unwavering expression that adds creepy points to the tally... and the hissing.
