10 Iconic Moments That Defined Mass Effect As A Series
4. Romancing Your First Character
Despite what Fox News said to the contrary, Mass Effect is not a sex simulator - instead, getting to the stage where Shepard bumps uglies with another character actually requires building a loving, trusting relationship with them first, not to mention the sex scenes are tastefully done regardless of who you're trying to get it on with. BioWare wisely took a liberal approach to Shepard's sexuality, allowing the character to be straight, gay or bi-sexual. Love can also transcend species', with it being possible to form sexual relationships with alien characters as well. Many players will no doubt fondly recall the first time they indulged in some romance while taking a break from shooting Geth in the face. Whether it was with the mysterious Tali, the voluptuous Miranda or the manly, spike-faced Garrus - or neither - it was entirely up to you.
