10 Iconic Video Game Mascots (That Actually Suck)

10. Pac-Man

Where better to start than the original iconic video game mascot himself, Pac-Man. It makes sense he became such an icon of gaming, given he was the star of the world's most popular arcade game, while also being one of the first real video game characters to even exist. Back in the day it was rare to play as something more in-depth than a simple white line or a vaguely abstract shape, so when old Pacs came about he quickly became the face of the entire industry, largely because he was the only character in the industry with a face. In truth though, Pac-Man is a bit rubbish. Essentially he's just a gluttonous wad of cheese, going round and round in circles as he desperately tries to find more coins and cherries to eat. Well we say coins, those little yellow circles could be anything really couldn't they? The character is undeniably a great symbol of his age, representing true genius in simplicity. However, given a block of sliced Edam could replace him and nobody would notice the difference, it's hard to maintain he doesn't suck harder than a Katie Price vacuum cleaner.
