10 Iconic Video Games You Almost Lost To Development Hell

7. L.A. Noire

Development for L.A Noire began immediately after developer Team Bondi's formation in 2004. Originally due to be released exclusively by Sony, after numerous setbacks and delays because of problems with the cutting-edge motion capture technology, the publishing rights for L.A Noire eventually found their way to Rockstar Games in 2006. Aiding Bondi€™s development with extra manpower and resources, Rockstar saw out the final fine-tuning of the game, transforming some of the base features to better represent what players had come to expect from the developers€™ iconic open world titles. Even then though the project missed its pencilled-in 2008 release date. In fact, the game didn€™t even receive a début trailer until 2010. Finally re-announced for the September of that year, the game was pushed back yet again until 2011 to allow for further polishing. Sadly enough, Team Bondi went under shortly after the game€™s release, leaving their next title, The Whore of the Orient left to linger, half-finished in development hell for all of eternity.
