4. Pyramid Head Rape - Silent Hill 2

Now we're onto something that absolutely isn't funny in any way, and it comes from a game with a tone that's downright funereal. Silent Hill 2 is easily the best game in the series, though there's one moment that simply cuts too close to the bone for many gamers, and it's a scene that had many of us weeping for the warm, safe bosom of our mothers. Mid-way through the game, James encounters the series' most iconic villain, Pyramid Head, as he appears to be in the middle of having a sneaky hump with two mannequins. That's right, Pyramid Head is briefly seen violently molesting the two monsters in what is easily the most disturbing moment of the franchise. Up until that point, we could pretty much handle every demented thing that Silent Hill threw at us, though this was so sufficiently upsetting that for many it was seen as going too far, and at least temporarily undid what was otherwise a brilliant survival horror game, as players had to try and re-immerse themselves in this depraved world. Whatever your opinion on the scene, it's certainly not a necessary part of the game, even if it does flesh out James' character a tad more, implying his own sexual frustration (due to his wife Mary being ill), considering that Pyramid Head is supposed to symbolise his ugly subconscious.
