10 Important Video Game Cutscenes You Totally Missed

5. Venom Hasn't Forgotten Paz - Metal Gear Solid 5

The events of MGS: Ground Zeroes, and in particular the loss of character Paz at the end of the game, seem to rest heavy with main-man Venom Snake throughout The Phantom Pain.

This comes through most in completely optional cutscene.

Should players travel back to the medical bay on the Mother Base main platform and enter the door in front of them, they'll discover Paz sat on one of the beds, seemingly alive and well offering a few words to Venom.

The conversation will trigger an alternate flashback to the two's final moments in Ground Zeroes, and offer Venom just a moment of warmth away from the desolate grind he endures in The Phantom Pain. Even after the cinematic ends, players will still be able to walk around the room and continue interacting with Paz.

This of course turns out to just be a hallucination, but it does go to show just how deep the scars of the first game run for Venom.

Horror fan, gamer, all round subpar content creator. Strongly believes that Toad is the real hero of the Mario universe, and that we've probably had enough Batman origin stories.
