The Level: Dracula Boss Battle

The original Castlevania game on the NES is one of the best the system offered, but it wasn't easy to beat. You couldn't save and return to a checkpoint, so if you died at any point along the way, you had to start over and try again.

Getting to Dracula was no easy task, but beating him was even harder than everything leading up to that point, which meant there were a lot of players who would get to him, die, and start over from the beginning of the game to try a new strategy.

Fortunately, it's not 1986 anymore, and the Internet exists to make these types of games a bit easier. Anyone who goes into this boss fight blind will learn quickly that trial and error can take dozens of playthroughs.

The Tweak: Holy water.

The key to beating Dracula is preparation. Don't even think about going into this fight without a surplus of hearts. You will also need Holy Water, as that's the best weapon to use against him. Holy Water can stop his projectiles, which makes them easier to jump over.

Holy Water can also be used to stall Dracula in his final form, which is imperative, as it will make the second stage of the battle easier than the first.
