10 Incredible Video Game Sequels & Remakes Made Entirely By Fans

Morrowind – the third instalment in the Elder Scrolls franchise – is easily the most original entry in the series, despite appearing a little outdated by modern standards. It’s many people’s favourite for a reason: the story is comparatively original, revolving around the resurrection of an ancient god, the player instrumental in his eventual destruction. That said, the game is severely outdated, featuring almost no voice-acting whatsoever, the visuals essentially archaic.

By comparison, Skyrim – the fifth instalment – looks incredible, though the story (in my opinion, at least) is inferior, borrowing its basic premise from its predecessor, but grounding the fantastic elements significantly. Skyrim is also superior in terms of gameplay, which is deceptively simplistic, offering the player plenty of versatility.

As such, Skywind – a remake currently in development, fully approved by Bethesda Softworks – looks perfect, blending aspects from each game in order to create the ultimate Elder Scrolls experience.

The remake – currently scheduled for release over the next several years – has already been released in alpha, and received an overwhelmingly positive response. Not only does it overhaul the visuals, the mod also provides thousands of lines of voice-acting, a completely original soundtrack inspired by music from the series, and a new combat system.

Honestly, it looks downright incredible.
