Mordheim: City of the Damned is based on the squad based combat tabletop game of the same name. If you prefer your Warhammer fantasy universe darker than a certain Batman trilogy you’ll find something to like in Mordheim. The game lets the player choose one of several factions, human and not, from which to recruit a squad to send into combat.

While there are story missions much of your time will be dedicated to sending your squad in to gather Warpstone to send off to buyers so that you may upgrade your squad and their equipment. Be cautious though as losing one of your squad members means they may suffer a permanent injury or die meaning all of your hard earned progress with them is gone.

The game was met with mixed reviews with common complaints being the AI, rather steep learning curve, and some technical issues. However if you enjoy turn based strategy with RPG elements in a dark setting you’ll enjoy your time in Mordheim.
