5. Manhunt 2 Various
Manhunt 2 is certainly a contender to lift the prize for being one of the most banned games in existence. It has been outright outlawed in South Korea, Germany, Malaysia and New Zealand but has managed to overturn the ban it originally received in Ireland, Italy and the UK, with some areas getting edited versions of the game. All areas cite the same reasons for the ban for "gross, unrelenting, and gratuitous violence." Developers Rockstar are certainly no strangers to controversy, with the first Manhunt game also experiencing a battle against censorship laws when it was first released in 2003, not to mention the various GTA related arguments that stem from each release. The riotous voices started just two days after the Manhunt 2 announcement due to the first game being wrongly linked to a murder in the UK, with many astonished that Rockstar would dare to make a sequel. Once again tight panted Jack Thompson rallied the troops behind his usual gutter-mouthed nonsense and the moaning mob concentrated all their efforts into getting the game banned throughout the world. Manhunt 2 was certainly not a terrible game by any means but it failed to capture the murderous magic the first game brought to the table with less shocking, I thought anyway, violence.
