10 Infuriating Boss Moments That Make You Question Life Itself

3. Angeal Penance (Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII)

The prequel story to the classic Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core was definitely a must have for the PSP. In true FF fashion, bosses were usually means to advance the plot by way of a difficult battle. Towards the middle of the game, the hero Zack must face off against his mentor Angeal - the original wielder of the Buster Sword - in a transformed state, leading to the player's first real struggle. Angeal's beast form is a large and powerful Centaurian-esque creature named Angeal Penance, which will cause major headaches. Penance has 8 moves that either do a ton of damage or boost his own defence to the point that it can render even the strongest attacks near useless. Penance has crazy attack range and speed, and being trapped with it in a tiny arena makes dodging increasingly difficult. When first encountered, if the player hadn't invested in side missions to level up, Zack will be mashed into a pulp instantly. Even after a large amount of grinding, Penance will still take a large amount of tolerance and aptitude to defeat, resulting in a harrowing ordeal. The battle with Angeal is one of high emotions for Zack, which will allow him to use his materia more often; certainly an advantage. Difficulty Rating: 9 - Like many Final Fantasy games before it, this battle comes at a key point in the storyline and is incredibly hard. Grinding is a prerequisite, and without doing so the battle will be much more difficult. Either way, the road to defeating Angeal Penance is long, and will require and immense amount of work. Angeal Penance will definitely make you question your life priorities.
