10 Infuriating Levels That Almost Derailed Great Games

3. Any Pokemon Game(GB, GBA, DS)€“ Victory Road

http://youtu.be/hbeQcaLrFAw I love the Pokemon series. Game Freak have me literally right where they want me. Every time they release a new one, I€™m there regardless of review scores or word of mouth. And every time I get lost completely in the rich, critter filled world. €œI€™m never going to run from a battle in this one€, I say to myself at the start of each new game, €œI€™m going to have the strongest team anyone€™s ever seen€. Cut to: three weeks later and I don€™t go anywhere without at least 50 super repels and a Pokemon trained to use Flash. So when I'm approaching the final chapter of the game, when I'm really feeling the lull, what comes next? The god damned Victory Road. You€™ll fight plenty of trainers (who of course aren€™t kept at bay by repel) and even if you do have a stock of the handy Pokemon deflecting potion in your backpack, the Victory Roads are always long enough for you to run out. These roads place every obstacle from the game in your path too so if your team doesn€™t have every single HM between them, you€™ll be making more than one angry trip back to the nearest Pokemon Centre before you finally reach the Elite Four. I might go so far as to say that I believe Pokemon to be one of the greatest RPG franchises ever made but that doesn€™t change the fact that I HATE THE GOD DAMNED VICTORY ROAD!
