10 Infuriating Video Game Puzzles Fans Hated
1. FEZ - Black Monolith
Before I bemoan this one, the following statement needs saying: FEZ is brilliant. Go play FEZ, enjoy the brain-melting concept, the cracking visuals and tunes. Oh, and Gomez's squishy little face.
That being disclaimed, the Black Monolith room can swan dive into a bin.
Puzzles in FEZ already require some nifty thinking, what with the rotating of the 2nd dimension and all to find cubes. Of course, that's the prerequisite to get the standard ending, getting so many cubes.
Then there's the anti-cubes (which add to your overall tally), which become harder to find. These are already a bit insipid and crafty to find. Of course, this a puzzle game after all, that's a challenge to some, fair enough. That's not all though, as there are more cubes to find.
Hidden in an even more obtuse manner, FEZ tasks us with deciphering a secret code, written sideways for extra annoyance. Oh, and you can only see it in a perspective mode unlocked after first completion.
Probably a good thing there's no FEZ II coming. Who knows what it'd do to our poor minds...
