10 Insultingly Bad Side-Mission Rewards In Video Games

3. An Achievement Pop - King Richard's Flags (Assassin's Creed)

The original Assassin's Creed was an uneven beast of a game that should not have taken off as well as it did, but it sure did. Going back to it after playing all the other games that have come in its wake is a jarring experience to say the very least, but nothing the game offers you can compare to the pain and torment that is the King Richard Flag side mission.

Like any open world game, and definitely like what we'd see in the games following this one, Assassin's Creed has a long, drawn out collect-a-thon side mission where you nick all of King Richard's flags.

But while the rewards for collecting these inane objects usually don't match the effort it took to get there, at least 90% of the time you get SOMETHING.

Your reward for collecting 100 of King Richard's flags? An achievement. Just a few points of gamer score to show off on Xbox Live. And that's assuming you got the Xbox 360 version, because if you got the PS3 version, which came out before playstation trophies were a thing, you get NOTHING!
