10 Intense Video Game Levels NO ONE Beat First Time

Resident Evil 4 is nothing if not a game that totally hurls players in at the deep end, giving them little time to acquaint themselves with the series' fluid new combat system before the chainsaw-totting maniacs show up to make off with their head.

But the most enervating level in the game's opening village section is surely Chapter 2-2, which culminates in a deeply stressful standoff inside a cabin, as Leon and his pal Luis Sera attempt to fend off a seemingly never-ending horde of Ganados.

The level ingeniously boxes players into a confined environment and forces them to adapt, utilising everything in their arsenal to keep the invaders at bay.

It is by far the most overwhelming part of the game up to this point, throwing an almost insurmountable number of enemies at the player, requiring them to be quick-thinking and fast on their feet.

It's a stressful and challenging skill-check, albeit one which with its array of options available to the player never feels cheap or excessively punishing.
