10 Intense Video Game Levels NO ONE Beat First Time

The Guitar Hero franchise has arguably never topped the finger-blistering intensity of DragonForce's "Through the Fire and Flames" from Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

Even players who could sail through every other song in the game on Expert difficulty found themselves sweating bullets as they struggled to maintain their composure through this seven-plus-minute song containing an insane 3,722 notes. That's an average of 8.42 notes per second.

Through the Fire and Flames requires players to have an unflappable mastery of hammer-ons and pull-offs, and a peerless ability to keep track of the ever-busy note highway.

Even if you can make it past the insane opening section and scrape through the solos, the sheer anxiety of keeping your Rock Meter out of the red for seven minutes makes this one of the most stressful things a gamer could ever willfully put themselves through.

Nobody beat it the first time, and for many victory eluded them potentially hundreds of times - assuming they didn't just give up altogether, of course.
