10 Last Gen Games That Absolutely Must Come To Nintendo Switch

The Switch is a bastion for remakes, but there's still plenty of games we'd like to see return!

The Nintendo Switch has been a pretty big success since it released in March of 2017. Nintendo has managed to do with the Switch what it failed to do on Wii U: fill in the gaps between major first-party releases. Let's not forget, there was a woeful dearth of games on the Wii U, with literal month long stretches between where no games came out. None!

Those lengthy gaps have been filled with indie games and remakes on the Nintendo Switch. Sure, there's certainly an argument to be made that the Switch has the opposite problem; with anywhere between 10-20 games releasing a week it's becoming a race to the bottom like the app store. That being said, we're still big advocates of bringing the right games to the Nintendo Switch, a good example being Dark Souls Remastered and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

As such, today we're taking a look at ten video games/series that absolutely must come to the console. Truth be told, there's more than 10 games on this list but that's because they come in a bundle (or should). So let's stop beating around that proverbial bush because, if we don't get the show on the road, a literal game about beating a bush will probably release on the Switch before we're done.

10. Super Mario Galaxy 1&2

You may be wondering why two of the most beloved Mario games of all-time are so low on this list, but it's because it's shocking they aren't on the Switch already.

Nintendo has been doing a good job of porting seminal games from the Wii and Wii U, particularly Mario-centric games, including Mario Kart 8 and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. Somehow though, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 have yet to make the jump - no pun intended.

Perhaps the games haven't been ported yet because Nintendo wanted Super Mario Odyssey to shine - again, no pun intended - but it's 2019 now and there's still no whiff of these two masterpieces showing-up on the Switch. We want to collects sprites while defying gravity and leaping between planets on-the-go. The first game in the series is now 12 years old. A remaster isn't just desired, but downright necessary.

Honestly, the potential for this is extremely high and they likely will come to the Switch, meaning it's more a matter of when than if.
