10 Long Video Games That Fall Apart At The VERY End
1. Red Dead Redemption 2
Another outing from Rockstar on this list which tells us one thing: Rockstar can't take the hint when it comes to wrapping things up.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a massive improvement on the first one in many regards. Beautiful graphics, that uncanny attention to detail that usually goes amiss, alongside a well-crafted, living world. In that sense, it's an amazing game to play through.
However, much like the first one, it also features an epilogue that just has to wrap up a few things. Whereas the first one only put players in Jack Marston's shoes for a few hours, RDR2 takes a few liberties with gamers playing as his pa.
Perhaps to flesh out the character to make his death more poignant in the sequel (as this is a prequel), 2's endgame content just never seems to end. From establishing a job and lodgings with his family, to being a farmhand, to building the Marston ranch... it just drags on for too long.
It could have been abridged, either in cutscene form or with creative cutaways. Was it really necessary to hammer in that many fence posts?
Alas no, it just outstays its welcome for a lot longer than needed. A bit like this list, really.
